Fresh everything

January 6th, 2009

As with every cook, having fresh ingredients is of utmost importance. My wife and I took our yearly trip to my father’s farm in alaminos pangasinan.

What could even be fresher than vegetables plucked from the tree itself (my dad does not use any insecticide). Chicken which you have to dress yourself, and half kilo live mudcrabs, harvested just mins before.

No wonder i’m gaining weight. Imagine having the sweetest crabs selected and cooked (halabos) style, then flavored sweet and spicy.

I’ve tried finding good pork baby back ribs in the local market, apparently the butchers there are not familiar with the cut. They instead gave me large chunks of meat. Ribs, along with porkchop all in one piece.

now, all i need is to find out how i will shed all this extra weight before xmas comes again.

Product Logo/Sticker

December 21st, 2008

A good product needs a good logo, too bad it came in too late for this holiday rush. After selling at least 150 boxes of brownies and banana cakes this week, the sticker arrives.

Anyway, i’ve had my boss whip me up a design for a clear sticker.

Regaliz Dejoi’m no good with photo-chop, so this looks good to me =). anyway, in the next batches of pastries, surely there will now be logo’s on the packaging.

Quick Fix 10-30-08

October 31st, 2008

Coming home late from work, too tired to even cook a full dinner meal but I am still craving for something tasty before going to sleep.

Good thing I remembered that we bought these potato halves from the grocery last week. Its like the usual potato wedges but instead of just a wedge, you get the full half of the potato.

Just filled up the middile part with some spaghetti sauce I had left and sprinkled with quick melt cheese. The result is paradise. I just wish I had made some white sauce too for toppings.
